Sierra
[Currently in Kuhna form, but can change on a whim]
The sun beamed down lazily on the expansive mountain range, warming the peaks and valleys that made up the Tuun Mountains. Only a few puffy white clouds chased each other across the picturesque blue sky, the perfect day for being outdoors. The temperature was balmy, and the coming of spring heralded the return of greenery and flowers to the southernmost part of the mountain range, where the warm weather returned earlier in the year than further up north. Birds that had returned after overwintering in more tropical parts of the continent now filled the air with the sounds of their songs, and the atmosphere seemed to be abuzz with activity as creatures of all shapes and sizes went about preparing for the new season.
One figure seemed immune to the infectious energy which permeated the rest of the forest; it was easy to miss at a glance, but up on a low branch of a large oak tree perched a russet-hued, rather amorphous ball of fluff. The only indication that it wasn’t actually a part of the tree itself was the occasional swish of red and black striped tail, languorous motions that bespoke a lack of motivation to waste energy. The ball of fluff was actually the body of a small, red panda-like Kuhna – an altogether unassuming (if deceptively adorable) appearance. Easily mistaken for just another inhabitant of the thick forests which blanketed this part of the Tuun Mountains, there was actually much, much more to Sierra than initially met the eye.
In reality, Sierra was no mere woodland creature, but rather a spirit which embodied the mountain range itself. She herself couldn’t remember when her guardianship of this part of Evelon started, and there was no one to say that there ever really had been a beginning to speak of. This was all she knew, and watching over the mountains was all that she could remember. To others, it might seem like a rather dull existence, but to her, these mountains were the world, and there were plenty of ravages to protect them from, ranging from natural disasters to less-than-natural ones (which usually involved chainsaws and all manners of unnatural chemicals). Today seemed to be a rather laid-back day though, fortunately, which explained why Sierra could now be found basking in a patch of sunlight on her bough of choice. She was one who appreciated the little joys in life like this, and until her next task came calling, she was content to sit back and watch the world buzz around her.
