He sighed and stood and closed the distance between you. His hand came up and he cradled your face gently. His thumb stroked over your cheek. “I want you.”
You shook your head minutely. “I don’t know if I could bear it.” It was easy to let everything else become a vacuum. You knew his attentions were still everywhere at once. He never could afford to lose some part of his surroundings.
