[Kitsumi]

It took a little longer for the other two boys, Aaron and Luke, to notice that their friend had arrived. When they heard Trixie, they looked up from the snow they had currently been digging in and greeted Kaleb.

"Hey!" Aaron said, at the same time that Luke said, "It's about time you got here!"

[Kitsumi]

"Yeah, yeah, I get it, I'm late." Kaleb rolled his eyes. "How about we stop complaining and start having fun!" As he spoke, he knelt down and began packing some of the snow between his hands. In a few seconds, he managed to form a small ball out of the snow.

[Kitsumi]

Without giving any warning, Kaleb threw the snowball towards Luke. The other boy shielded his face with his gloved hands, but he needn't have bothered. The projectile missed its target, flying past Luke's head without so much as grazing him. Still, it seemed to be enough to completely change the mood between the friends.

[Kitsumi]

"This means war!" Luke declared, dropping to the snow so that he could form a weapon of his own. "Every man for himself!"

Immediately, all four children scattered. They tried to hide behind various objects in the yard, hoping to get some sort of cover as they prepared their snowballs for throwing.

[Kitsumi]

Trixie was the quickest to form a couple of snowballs, holding one in each hand. She looked around, trying to find a target. As soon as Aaron's face popped up from above the pile of debris he had been hiding behind, she threw the first snowball, which just barely hit his left arm.

[Kitsumi]

"Got ya!" Trixie called, triumphantly. But her victory did not last long, as Adam returned fire. His own snowball hit her in the chest with enough force to cause her to gasp. She immediately threw her second snowball at him, but this time her aim was not as good, and she missed.

[Kitsumi]

She immediately ducked back down, trying to hide behind the jungle gym. Adam began stalking towards her, forming another snowball as he did so. But then he felt something cold splat against the side of his head, chilling him through his hat. He spun around to see Luke disappearing behind a tree.

[Kitsumi]

"No fair!" Adam shouted, although he was laughing and didn't sound mad in the slightest. "You guys are double teaming me!"

"Don't worry," Luke called back, although he didn't dare show himself. "I plan on defeating all of you equally! I won't just pick on you, Adam." He laughed, feeling happy with how the fight was going so far.

[Kitsumi]

Meanwhile, knowing that Adam's back was turned to her, Trixie was taking careful aim with a snowball of her own. She giggled to herself, imaging how surprised her friend would look when she managed to strike him from behind. But then, she suddenly heard the crunching of snow behind her and spun around.

[Kitsumi]

Trixie turned, just in time to get a face full of snow as Kaleb threw both snowballs in his hands at her. Immediately he began apologizing, worried that she would get angry at him. "I'm sorry!" he cried, holding his hands up defensively. "I meant to get you in the head, but then you turned!"

[Kitsumi]

The girl frowned for a moment, and Kaleb felt a bit of worry. But then he noticed the playful gleam in her eyes as she took a step towards him.

"Oh, you are so gonna get it!" Trixie shouted. At the same time, she launched herself at him, sprinting at full speed.

[Kitsumi]

As the young girl's body collided with his, Kaleb felt his feet slipping out from under him. She landed on top of him, shoving snow in his face as his screams, mixed with laughter, echoed around them. The two of them wrestled in the snow, each of them trying to get the upper hand.

[Kitsumi]

By the time Kaleb and Trixie had finally stopped wrestling, both of them were absolutely covered in snow. Their faces were bright red as each of them had shoved snow in the other person's face. They were also both panting for breath, but still smiling despite the biting cold that was beginning to creep in.

[Kitsumi]

Behind Trixie and Kaleb, Adam and Luke were still throwing snowballs at each other. But as the last snowball was thrown, they finally began to slow.

"Truce?" Adam offered. He didn't want to admit it, but he was already feeling worn out from trying to run through the snow. It was a lot harder than he had expected.

[Kitsumi]

"Truce," Luke agreed. When the two boys turned to look back at their other two friends, their eyes widened. "Whoa, you guys look like abominable snowmen or something!" Luke teased. "Is there still any actual people underneath all that snow?"

Kaleb laughed. "I'm not even sure at this point," he joked.
